Wiltshire County Junior Golf Programme 2022

The Wiltshire County Junior  Golf Programme is run by Wiltshire Golf and contains three coaching/ match squads for Boys and an elite Girls squad backed up with 2 Development groups. We also support the Golf Foundation's Golf sixes initiative.

County coaching takes place across Wiltshire at various Clubs including, Cumberwell park, Bowood, Tidworth and Kingsdown. Each squad has two designated county coaches who deliver and oversee each coaching session. The county has a comprehensive coaching programme using the very latest computorised technology and coaching methods which involves six PGA qualified county coaches and is administered under the watchful eye of our very experienced and well respected County Head Coach John Jacobs. 

The Boy's & Girl's teams represent Wiltshire in matches against other counties throughout the South and South West & each match squad has a designated squad manager who looks after everything relating to that particular group. The county aims to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all our junior players an environment in which they can benefit from expert tuition, experience competitive play against their peers, be part of a team, make new friends and  enjoy their golf - all of which will help them on the way to reaching their full potential.   

 The county is very much aware of the pressures playing golf at a highly competitive level can have on a young player, therefore we aim to provide help and support for all our players with regard to their physical and mental wellbeing. Wiltshire operates an open and transparent selection process for all it's county junior squads, based upon performance, handicap index and professional referral.We strongly reccommend that any parent who thinks their child has the necessary qualities to be part of the county programme should get in touch at the earliest possible opportunity.  Our County Junior Organiser is Colin Rossiter and he would be delighted to speak to any parents who think their son or daughter would benefit from experience at a higher level of golf.
